About Katie
Katie is a lifelong horse person. She has ridden to the international levels of eventing, established a thriving business and continues to pursue competition goals at the top of the sport. Katie has an extensive United States Eventing Association (USEA) record with many top placings and has her United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Bronze Medal.
Born to a riding mom, Katie started life in the saddle and was given her first pony at age five. That opinionated, shaggy Shetland would be the foundation of a life in horses. A few years later, Katie’s parents enrolled her with the United States Pony Club (USPC). While in USPC she competed in two National championships and qualified in three other disciplines. Throughout this time, Katie was also competing in USEA events and completed her first Federal Equestrian International (FEI) event in 2005 at age 17.
In 2005, Katie made the transition to Young Riders (equestrian Junior Olympics) where in 2006 she would represent Area III on the CCI* team and finish with a team fourth. That fall, it was off to college for Katie, horse in tow, at the University of Florida. While at school she worked in the area as a riding instructor and maintained several sales horses. After graduating in 2009 Katie began working as the marketing manager at the Florida Horse Park in 2010 and continued sales, teaching and training around work demands. In 2011 Katie made the move to establish herself as a full time equine professional.
As the business grew, Katie and her husband purchased their current farm in 2013. There they expanded into boarding, while continuing training, teaching and sales.
Katie has trained dozens of horses, helped many riders, of all ages and talents, attain their goals and sold a selection of horses into great homes with junior and amateur riders. Throughout her riding career, Katie has always had the benefit of top instructors including Shelley Lambert, Michael Godfrey, Jennifer Holling, Kyle Carter, Andrew Harbison, and currently Peter Atkins. She has also ridden in clinics with Jim Wofford, Chris Bartle and Kai-Steffen Meier.
Looking to the future, Katie intends to continue pursuing international competition goals and being a perpetual student of the horse.
